A university committed to inculcate morality and values, which make its students good human beings and responsible citizens. It is based on the tenets of Indian Culture as envisaged by Pt Shriram Sharma Acharya, the founder of Gayatri Pariwar, head quartered at Shantikunj, Haridwar. Dev Sanskriti Vishwavidyalaya is located at Haripur Kalan, a village located near the border of the districts of Haridwar and Dehradun. It’s spiritual fervor is augmented by its location, on the bank of the Holy Ganges and in the lap of the sacred Himalayas.
Spread over a huge area of eighty-two acres, it is at a distance of 7 km from the railway station of Haridwar and is positioned on the Dehradun-Rishikesh Highway. It was established on 11th April 2002 by an Act of Uttaranchal Government viz. 04, 2002 (no. 123/vidhai and sansadiya karya/2002), Dehradun . It is duly recognized by the University Grants Commission (U.G.C).
This vast institution is self- financed and managed through people’s contribution and not by any grant from the State or the Central Government or UGC.
Only subsistence allowance is taken by the staff to meet their daily needs and livelihood. However, the university provides free boarding & lodging, free electricity/water supplies, free medical service to their families & free education to their children. The teachers and professors of various universities in India and abroad come here from time to time to offer their expertise, guidance and wisdom to the students.
